When is the new iPhone coming out?
Bites from the Apple: Whispers of 3G iPhone Sooner Than Later 1:02 PM PDT, April 4, 2008 The 3G-enabled iPhone is pretty much a lock for 2008, but the question that constantly churns through the gadgetosphere is when? This week, there have been reports circulating about current stocks of iPhones being very strained, with Apple stores selling out and the online Apple store showing up to a week’s delay in shipping. Could this be just down to very high demand for the product, or is the international grey market for the phone be the culprit (and in particular, Russian smugglers)? Or is this a sign that Apple is trying to draw down inventory for the current EDGE-y iPhone to make way for the new 3G hotness? The latter got a bit more fuel this week with reports out of Europe that T-Mobile in Germany is drastically reducing prices for a limited time, offering the 8 GB iPhone for €99 (about $155) if purchased with an €89 monthly subscription plan (which provides 1,000 minutes and 300 text messa
No one outside of Apple really knows what is going to be released and when. It’s just the way it is. Apple is a secretive company and sticks with it. If they are going to launch something, then they do. That’s the time you know that it’s going to be there. Rumors as there might be, but they are more than likely false. The best indicator of something new is that it has been there for a year or so. They always like new stuff. So it’s likely that it is going to come out soon. The question, what is soon?
