When is the last time District 129 voters approved an operating rate increase?
Voters last approved an increase in the operating rate 19 years ago. Since 1988, student enrollment has grown by more than 5,000. An entire generation of students has started in District 129 kindergartens and graduated from West High since 1988. Voters rejected District 129 operating rate hike requests in 1995 and 2001. Meanwhile, voters in surrounding school districts have approved operating rate increases, in some cases several times, in subsequent years.
