When is the best time to transplant evergreens?
In most cases the best time to transplant an evergreen is early spring, before the tree has new growth. The worst time is after there is new growth. For best success: Keep soil intact around roots as much as possible. After transplanting, prune away about 1/3 of the tree (so the disturbed roots have less to support). Keep tree well watered for first year.
