Generally speaking it is best to put in a lawn is in the fall. Warm season grasses do best at temps between 80ºf -95ºf degrees. The least expensive way is to plant seeds. You do not get instant gratification like sod, but you will spend much less. Site preperation is one of the most important aspects of planting a new lawn. The ground should be tilled, and nutrients should be applied for the new grass plants.
