When is the best time to go fishing in credit view river?
It’s a bit late in the season for salmon in the Credit River. Yes its the Credit, not Credit view. When the salmon first start running, Erindale Park is a hotspot, they hit roe bags and yarn flies pretty readily. A flatfish of the correct size can also land you a whopper. There are many snags and dead falls throughout the Credit watershed, but if you don’t lose some bait, you’re not fishing! Where you were in Georgetown can really heat up but you must hit this stretch before the fish are spent, I’ve always found a yarn fly resembling a roe bag effective here and since the teeth get caught in the yarn easily you get a good warning on light biting fish. Finally, if there has been a lot of rain, watch for the action to start as early as the middle of August and with the right conditions it can continue through to the second week of November. Good fishing ! Oh, and be very careful about the sanctuaries, check the Regs, as they do change and are strictly enforced!!!!
