When is the best time to dive around Nusa Lembongan?
The diving around Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Penida is fantastic year round and generally visibility is 20-30m. Mola molas can be sighted from September to the beginning of November and mantas can be found at Manta Point year round, although it can be more difficult to reach the site from July to September. The best conditions actually for seeing the manta ray are often found during the rainy season, from January to March. Water temperature varies considerably throughout the year and even changes from day to day. It is normally 25-29C from January to August and then the temperature begins to drop for the mola season, where 18-25C is more common. By December the water warms up again. Don’t discount the rainy season for a trip over to Bali and Nusa Lembongan. Daytime temperatures are very comfortable at this time of year and many tourists enjoy escaping the crowds of high season and the benefits of lower accommodation prices and wider choices.
