The first thing the repairman will do is clean the dust and lint from the cooling fins. you can do that with a vacuum and /or canned /compressed air. Next he will check refrigerant levels and operation of condenser,compressor etc. I don’t know how they do that. I recommend you clean the back and underneath of it thoroughly and see if that helps. I worked in restaurants for 20 years and 9 times out of ten, a good cleaning on the back of the cooling unit is all it needs to restore proper cooling. If your fridge is very old, you might consider getting a new one anyway. If you are on a tight budget, keep your eyes out for houses or mobile homes that are being demolished.
