When is the best time of year to come to Fire Mountain and the mountains of Western NC?
Any time of the year when you can arrange your schedule to get away to a great hideaway for a special time of relaxation in a spectacular and wonderful setting is the perfect time to come to Fire Mountain. The High Season months start each year during Memorial Day Weekend and go through New Years Day and are the busiest months of the year here in the highlands. The months of January through March are the quietest months of the year. More and more guests join us for the winter months. The clarity of the air is perfect (because of the absence of the mist in the air which is one of the reasons the mountains are called the Smoky Mountains) and the foliage is no longer on the trees. As a result the sunsets are brilliant, the views are the most expansive and there is a quiet and stillness that is not present during the High Season months.
