When is the best time of the year to install turf?
Turf can be installed any time of the year. Spring and early summer are the most popular times as people are anxious to work outside, however, the fall and winter installation can be less stressful for the sod product and the individuals involved with the installation. During periods of extreme wet conditions, installation of the turf can be accomplished by using narrow strips of plywood that are laid on top of the grass. With each successive row of the turf that has been laid move the plywood strips near the leading edge so that next row can be installed. The purpose of the plywood helps to distribute the weight of the individuals installing the turf.
