When is service on Hwy 70 going to be offered?
In October 2007, City Council accepted an exchange of property on the East Mesa that resulted in the City’s ownership of the former Church on the Rock property. Located on Porter Road, the plan is to turn this building into a new Multigenerational Center that offers delicious food and a range of educational and recreational programs. The ideas we have for this new program are based on a model developed by Mather Life Ways, a non-profit foundation based in Chicago. Mather has developed Cafes that have become neighborhood favorites for great food, fitness classes and learning programs. People come to catch up on e-mail, surf the Internet or learn new ways to use computers. They gain helpful consumer information in regular presentations or participate in discussions about music, travel, theater, painting or architecture.
