When is repairing a signal considered an emergency (for which cash payment is made)?
When an employee is called back to repair a signal light after he/she has already gone home for the day, he/she will be compensated with cash payment according to PPM No. 12. If a signal needs to be repaired during a regular work schedule, this may be an emergency situation, but not one eligible for overtime pay.
