When is one who enters the United States in H-lB status required to commence the H-lB employment?
A. No later than thirty days after the H-I B worker is admitted to the United States in H-I B status or no later than 60 days after the worker becomes eligible to work for the employer, if the worker is already in the United States. Note also that J-1 waiver physicians with a federal or state IGA waiver must agree to commence work within 90 days of the USCIS approval of the waiver.
