When is Market Opening Time?
You might have placed a limit order instead of a market order. A market order says buy or sell now, regardless of the price. A limit order says buy or sell but only at a specific price or better. If you placed an order to buy at $10, for example, but the stock has been above 10 since you placed your order, your order will not be executed.
You will want a watch with a separate time zone on it. I used to trade in a different market in a different time zone. A desktop widget helps as well. If you are using real time trade tools with Ebay, just set an alarm or have those stocks with real time tickers on them and you can see when the prices start moving. Trading in different time zones can be tricky. You may not be awake for large market moves. Yahoo has some cool tools that will send an alert in any significant price change.
