A. According to Ontario’s Regulation 199/03 under the Health Protection and Promotion Act, the Medical Officer of Health (MOH) makes the decision to adulticide after an in-depth local assessment of the risk of West Nile virus. If this action is deemed necessary, York Region will provide notice to the public at least 48 hours prior to adulticiding in an area.
