When is it the students’ responsibility to create and/or activate their Odin accounts and when will ES Distance Learning do it for them?

The ES Distance Learning office staff will create and activate accounts for ES cohort programs. A cohort program is defined as a program where groups of students begin the program at the same time, take a series of courses and earn a degree or certificate at the end of the program. For all other credit courses, students must create their own Odin accounts. If non-cohort students (students taking individual online courses only) need off-campus access to electronic library resources, the Distance Learning office will activate Odin accounts for the students (students do not need to come to campus and produce a student ID nor do they need to fax an ID copy to the PSU Helpdesk to have their accounts activated). Once the Distance Learning office has activated accounts, they will forward Odin login information to the responsible program staff. It is the responsibility of the program staff member to get that information to the students.
