When is it the best time to shop for clothes in NYC and receive good bargains?
I’ve always found the period from Dec. 26 to approximately President’s Day to be a great time for sales. This is an otherwise slow time in the retail business (and it’s the time when retailers are clearing out winter mechandise to make room for spring clothes), so there are terrific deals to be had! I always recommend that clothing shoppers visit Century 21, which is a fantastic discount department store in lower Manhattan (it’s actually adjacent to the World Trade Center site and was closed for a while post 9/11). They advertise discounts of 25% to 75% off of top-name merchandise (brands like Prada, etc., are easy to come by at Century 21).
