– The D1 rating is a no-fail rating. That means everybody who shows up for their D1 rating must pass, or meet standard. The key is that nobody should be showing up for a D1 rating that is not totally prepared to meet standard, including being appropriately mounted on a horse or pony that will enable the child to demonstrate riding at the D1 level. It is the DC’s duty to ensure that the candidate meets standard prior to organizing a rating.
