When is hurricane season?
Hurricane season is from June 1st to November 30th. Caribbean hurricanes have occurred most frequently during the month of September but the “possibility” for hurricane development can occur throughout the hurricane season and in fact at anytime throughout the year. Officially the Caribbean hurricane season runs from the beginning of June to the end of November. Historically most tropical storm/hurricane activity in the Dominican Republic’s part of the Caribbean has taken place in the months of August and September. The Dominican Republic, like most of the Caribbean, is located in an area where hurricanes can occur.
