WHEN IS AN AIR/WATER HEAT EXCHANGER WORTHWHILE?
• Where cabinets with high thermal loads are not sufficiently cooled by existing room air conditioning. In such cases hot-spots can be efficiently relieved with water cooling. • Where the computer centre has no air conditioning and retrofitting is expensive. LHX air/water heat exchangers cool independently of their environment, irrespective of whether in individual cabinets or in containment groups. • Where servers are situated in an office environment, in which noise levels can be detrimental. Heat exchangers are closed, low-noise systems. • A variety of redundant cooling concepts can be implemented with LHX air/water heat exchangers. This may be either in a side-to-side configuration of individual cabinets or in a containment system.
