When is an A-Z Site Index Required?
Before we discuss what makes a good A-Z site index, let us first consider which websites should think about introducing one: • Large websites with many pages, products or services (as a general rule, websites with 30 pages or more). • Complex websites with pages, products or services that can be described in many ways. • International websites where pages, products or services have different names in different countries. Site indexes are not used as widely as site maps but they are highly recommended because they are organised by content, and not by the limitations of navigational grouping.
