America’s Best Dance Crew, which is often abbreviated as ABDC, is an American television show featuring street dance crews from the United States. The show is produced by American Idol judge Randy Jackson, and airs on MTV in the United States, MuchMusic in Canada and Musique Plus in Québec. The show is hosted by Mario Lopez and features Layla Kayleigh as the backstage correspondent. The judges are hip-hop artist; the rapper, Lil Mama, former N*SYNC member JC Chasez, and hip-hop choreographer Shane Sparks. The series was originally developed for NBC. JabbaWockeeZ were declared the winner of Season 1 on March 27, 2008, defeating Status Quo in the finale. Season 2 debuted on June 7, 2008 with the live auditions. The fourth season of America’s Best Dance Crew is set to premiere in early August 2009. Other details of Season 4 are still in talks. MTV announced that casting will begin on June 6, 2009 in Los Angeles. All three judges and hosts Mario Lopez and Layla Kayleigh have signed on for Season 4. MTV announced in a broadcast trailer that on Season 4, the show will be moving to Sunday nights at 9pm ET/PT and the first episode will air on August 9, 2009.
