There are a couple of reasons for this: • The email address is really invalid. • The SOA record data is not really an email address. Valid email addresses must be used in the zone file as well as in the application. If the email address is not valid at the time of the application, then the application will not be processed. Remember that the contact address in the SOA record is just like any other email address except that the @ character has been replaced by a period. So, many people may confuse the email address with a hostname. Be sure to put a email address here and convert the @ to a period.If you put a hostname here, it is likely to fail.If it does fail, then this problem must be corrected before the application can be processed. SPECIAL NOTE: If you use periods in the email address on the left side of the @ sign, then you must escape those periods before you convert the @ sign to a period.
