You don’t go into much detail about either the severity of the ulcer, its location, or what you mean by occasional. I’m also pretty sure that if it is that important to you to drink alcohol that you would have asked your doctor so, in essence, what you are looking for is some unknown person on the Internet to give you the OK and thereby give you justification to go and get plastered…… If I was you I would start thinking about the word “Denial” To answer your question it would not be wise, at least not for a while, because stomach ulcers have a tendency to recur. But it’s your body!

Research has proven that majority of ulcers are caused by a bacteria which is in your body from childhood which can be get rid of by treatment/antibiotics. Once your ulcer is in the clear and your stomach has had the chance to heal (usually within 3 months of taking the medications), you should be back to normal and can drink whatever you want in moderation. Drinking is NOT the cause of an Ulcer but will aggravate and harm it if it is ALREADY there. The same goes for smoking, spicy foods and stress. These are the elements which make your stomach produce the acid which burns through your ulcer/lining and make it painful. Always check with your doctor anyways just to be sure.
