The graphics capabilities of some PC’s do not allow DraftView’s “Double-Buffering” feature to work properly. Double-buffering improves repaint speed by performing the repaint offscreen, then flashing the image onto the screen when it is complete. Disabling the double-buffering feature will usually fix this problem. In DraftView versions 4.14 and later, the double-buffering can be disabled in DVSetup, under the Performance area. For older versions you must edit the \windows\dv40.ini file, and set DblBufferImage=FALSE. DraftView must be re-started for this change to take effect. Q: When activating a CADDS part with DraftView, I can’t select the _fd file. Why is that? A: DraftView activates CADDS parts in the same manner as CADDS – by opening the _pd file first. This is true, even for 100% parametric parts. For parametric parts, the _pd file contains important data that is used by CADDS and DraftView to parse the _fd file properly. This is why DraftView requires you to select the _pd file
