A – This is most likely to be caused by the differential pressures being to high i.e.: cold over hot above a 10:1 ratio. Other possible causes for this problem are blocked internal filters or an inadequate or low temperature hot supply. Q – I have fitted a thermostatic mixing valve and turned both hot and cold supplies on full but I can’t get any water through the valve. A – The valve is supplied with 3 adapters – one each for the hot and cold inlets and one for the mixed water outlet. The inlet adapters have a single check valve and disc strainers fitted while the outlet adapter does not. If one of the inlet adapters is fitted to the outlet the check valve would stop any water from coming out of the valve. This could also be a localised air lock if working on a low-pressure system. Q – I have installed a thermostatic mixing valve but I am only getting a trickle of water from the outlet.
