The RLC-DSP404 autopatch (like the one built into the RLC-Club) has a sensor that detects when a certain amount of current is flowing through the phone line. Usually that sensor can detect when the phone line is in use and when the other party hangs up (when the phone company turns off the current flow for a half second or so). By default, the controller is set up to automatically hang up when it thinks the other party does. In some cases the sensor doesn’t work correctly (usually due to how the phone company sets up the phone line). This can cause the controller to think that the other party has hung up as soon as the connection is made.
