The course uses web pages as the delivery method, but it is really a custom-programmed web application running via the browser. Because the dynamic features used are differently supported in the various browsers and versions, we have focussed on the current generation of browsers, MS Internet Explorer 5.x and Netscape 6. The course should also work with future releases of these browsers. The course will work with MSIE 4 but Version 5 or 5.5 is recommended. The course will not work with any prior version of Netscape. You can download a current browser from the Microsoft or Netscape website. However, as these are quite large downloads, an alternative is to install from the CD provided with one of the many available PC magazines. The dropdown menu of subtopics goes away before I’ve made my choice. It is set to wait about 12 seconds, long enough in most circumstances. If the menu closes before youre ready, just click the button again to redisplay it.
