Identd is a method of authentication, and is required by many IRC networks. To make sure identd is enabled in mIRC, go to the Identd section in the mIRC Connect dialog. If identd is enabled, and you still can’t connect, you are most likely trying to connect through a network or firewall that isn’t configured to allow identd connections. You would need to configure your system to allow identd connections.
