When I travel to Cuba, why does my passport require a minimum of six months before expiry?
I think that it is a safety net that most countries use. You never know just what might happen whilst you are abroad. EG, you are enjoying a wee break in Benidorm and you get embroiled in a bar fight. Next thing you know, you are stuck in a Spanish jail awaiting a possible court appearance. This might take a few weeks or even months, therefor, your passport will need to be valid when you eventually are realeased, to enable you to travel home. Another example would be if you decided to stay a little longer and do some casual work. Hope this will clear up your question, somewhat.
