When I start up my PC, my client application starts trying to access DSData before it gets up and running. How can I remedy this?
Host Engineering has created a utility called DSStart that will allow you to sequence the startup of several applications with a single icon, usually in your Startup group. You specify the application name along with a delay time. However, this utility is an older 16-bit application that does not understand long file names. Therefore you must use the hashed names for pathnames that are longer than 8 characters (e.g. “c:\Program Files\..” would be entered as “c:\Progra~1”). You can download this utility here: DSStart.ZIP.
