So far, this has turned out to be outdated video drivers in almost all cases. MX Simulator requires accelerated OpenGL 1.1. If the drivers aren’t there you will get software rendering which, as you have noticed, is unusably slow. To update your drivers, contact your graphics card manufacturer. If you don’t know what card you have, check under Control Panel / System Properties / Device Manager / Display Adapters. If you have an ATI video card with up to date drivers and are still getting crashes try disabling Catalyst AI.
