When i put my oranda in the tropical tank with the livebearers?

Livebearers are typically a non-agressive fish but the do tend to nip and bite at large slow fish such as goldfish. That is yet another reason not to mix those types. Most fish will nip and harass any fish that is sick or in poor health. That is another reason not to mix them. The most obvious reason being the differences in water needs. Orandas can tolerate higher temps than some goldfish, but they do not like the higher temps required for tropical livebearers. You need to keep these fish seperate. I am not sure who told you that the oranda can be kept in a tropical tank, but there needed to be more info given to you. Orandas can do well in temps in the low 70’s as can some tropical fish, but most tropical fish require higher temps than is suitable for you oranda.
