When I pop in my DVD movie, a region error occurs, why wont my DVD play?
NOTE: The following information applies to region one DVDs. Other region’s laws and drive behaviors may be different. Region errors occur when the DVD does not match the region (usually groups of countries) in which it was designed to be sold. The DVD drive is matched to the region it was sold in. If a DVD movie from a different region is placed in the drive, then a message will appear stating so and the DVD software may not let you play the movie. Most DVD players play three non-region titles before they quit playing non-region titles. This is designed to prevent illegal selling of software titles between regions. Purchase compatible DVD movies or replace the DVD drive with one from the same region as where the DVD movies are purchased.
