When I play my external MIDI keyboard, why don I hear the sound through my selected DXi synth?

Band-in-a-Box doesn’t currently support MIDI thru for DXi synths. This means that if you are playing into Band-in-a-Box from an external MIDI controller, you will not hear the sound being played through the DXi synth. You will actually hear the sound played on whatever synth you have selected as your MIDI Output Driver in the main MIDI Driver Setup dialog. The reason for this is that if the DXi synth was used for MIDI thru, you wouldn’t be able to play a note on your keyboard and hear the sound instantaneously – it would take anywhere from 100 to 2000 milliseconds before you heard the note, depending on what you have the Driver Latency set at. It currently isn’t possible to reduce DXi latency in Band-in-a-Box to a value that would be acceptable for live play-thru. 120. When using a DXi synth, the Soloist harmony doesn’t sound right and is out of time with the rest of the music. Note: This problem would not occur in Band-in-a-Box 2007 (and higher). Band-in-a-Box 2005 doesn’t support DXi
