When I paste in text from Microsoft Word 07 into the HTML editor, I get lots of gobbledygook, strange characters, etc. What can I do?
The icon in the HTML editor image you see above that is in the upper row on the right, just to the right of the clipboard, (with a little W on it) is the “Clean Word HTML” icon. After pasting in from MS Word you should click that icon to clean up the Word formatting for Moodle. This may remove some of your formatting such as bold, italics, colors, underlines, etc. For this reason, as in the above question, we recommend you only type *text* into your word processor, and do the formatting of the text using the tools and icons in the HTML editor in Moodle.
