If you get this error message when you click on the EndNote tools in Word, then most likely one of the two EndNote Cite While You Write (CWYW) files is not loading properly when Word starts. In Word go to Tools / Templates and Add-ins. You should see two EndNote files listed under Global Templates and Add-ins, and both files should be checked. The files you should see here vary depending on what version of EndNote and Word you are using – for example: for EndNote 7 & Word XP/2003: EN7CWYW.dot & EN7Cwyw.WordXP.wll If you are still having problems with this after verifying these CWYW files are checked, visit http://www.endnote.com/support/faqs/enfaq13.asp.
