On some computers, the Remote Desktop Connection software from Microsoft doesn’t properly maintain its connection to the server when it is minimized. Screen savers that keep the computer busy displaying images are especially problematic. A work-around is to click the Restore icon () on the yellow bar across the top of your screen. This will shift it into a regular window that you can shrink and drag out of the way. As long as the window isn’t minimized, it will keep the connection alive with the server.
