Boutell can no longer distribute GD versions below 1.60 so you won’t find it there. Since software patents are mostly an issue in the US, GD versions below 1.60 are freely available outside the US. Try http://www.e-gineer.com/instructions/install-gd13-for-php-with-apache-on-linux.
