Chances are you’re exercising for too short a time period. Any exercise, no matter what you’re doing (jogging, weight training, sit-ups etc), results in muscle growth if you do it for LESS than 1 hour. If you want it to slim down, make sure your jogs are at least an hour, without rest. Not even a 5 minute break. Its short bursts of energy and rests that cause muscle growth. You can jog really slowly if you want, as long as it exceeds 1hour. Long runs will make your muscles smaller while short bursts results in larger muscles. Compare marathon runners with sprinters.
