When I enter www.autistici.org/mysite, the browser goes to wwwX.autistici.org/mysite (where X stands for 1,2,3,4,5,…). Why?

A/I’s structure is distributed and replicated on several boxes: in order to allow for the passage from one server to another, our servers receive the request for “mysite” and redirect it to the box hosting the site at the moment: we have chosen to call these servers www1, www2, www3, www4 and so on. So if you enter the exact server address (for instance www3.autistici.org/mysite), you’ll go to the right box, otherwise (for example if you just enter www.autistici.org/mysite), you will be redirected to the right server.
