Generally, your first year is called PREREQUISITES. These are “remedial” classes you may need to come up to the level of the rest of the student. In many cases you can “test out” of these classes based on your SAT scores, but the colleges are often treqwuired by law that you take SOME of these courses “live” on-site. So expect to spend you first year taking English Lit, Phys Ed, Intro to Sociology, stuff like that. In fact, much of your first year is spent taking classes that are not related to your major. But tough it out, and takes the classes EARLY so you can get them out of your way. As you progress, you get more and more classes in your major area, and fewer “crap” classes. And the LAST thing you want is to delay, and find out that after 4.5 years of college, you can’t graduate until you’ve taken Econ 101!
