When I create a profit plan, the report doesn show the categories underneath the parent categories, like cost of goods sold, why?

There isn’t a way to break down the revenue and COGS in these reports. These reports are meant to be a overview or summary of your profit plan as you have made a projection of changes in profit. The projection doesn’t include how you intend to increase or decrease profit- i.e. where a increase in revenue or a decrease in COGS will occur or by how much. This is why it only shows the top level data.
