The standard vector graphics exchange format for Quartz is PDF. Unfortunately MS-Word isn’t very clever about its PDF support. It tends to convert everything to a 72 dpi bitmap, which pretty much defeats the whole purpose of it. Therefore the best option for using Intaglio graphics in Word is probably to increase Intaglio’s bitmap export resolution to 150 or 300 dpi in the Layout menu before exporting a PICT or PNG image. Older Quickdraw based drawing applications such as ClarisDraw can export vector PICT graphics to Word, but PICT is incapable of expressing many of the features of Quartz without resorting to a bitmap representation.
