When I become a member of the North Carolina State Bar by comity after the first of a calendar year, when will I owe dues for the first time?

You will owe dues for the year in which you are admitted regardless of when during the year you are admitted. The bar is prohibited by law from prorating the dues. You will be sent a dues notice. See NCGS ยง84-34 and 27 NCAC 1A, Rule .0203(c).
