When I access the startURL http://www.cycom.co.uk/club/login.jnlp java web start says “Checking for updates” and never seems to finish. Why?

A. There is a bug in Java Web Start that can delay this check for updates for more than 30 minutes. It will eventually finish so please just be patient, don’t cancel, but do something else on the internet in another window while leaving it running. Hopefully it will finish within a 30 minutes or so and will be instant startup on subsequent occaisions.
