When ERCOT issues a Credit Limit denial how detailed will the reason for denial be?
When awarding bids in an auction, ERCOT will not publish a list of ‘denied’ bids. When the CRRAH views bids after an auction how many MW were awarded and how many MW you bid for. If the Awarded MW is less than the Bid MW, then not all of your CRR was included in the optimal bid set that was awarded. There are two basic reasons that a bid is not awarded. 1) Adding this bid to the optimal bid set would overload an element in the network model a. This is the case if the bid price is less than the clearing price (clearing price = shadow price in some downloads) 2) Adding this bid to the optimal bid set would violate the credit constraint of the bidder a. This is the case if the bid wasn’t fully awarded, but the bid price is greater than the clearing price. Also an uncleared bid OBL bid with a negative price may be an additional reason for not clearing, namely that no one is buying what is being offered to sell.
