I tend to use cube ice 1x1x1 inch. In scotch it can mellow it a little, and add coolness since scotch should never be in a refrigerator or freezer. I have put Jameson’s whiskey in the freezer than drank it and it was good. as a general rule no more than 2 ice cubes should be used, it’s not meant to be a sno-cone.
