When does the MLS season start and how many games are the Whitecaps playing?
The season will start around the 3rd week of March, 2011. The Whitecaps will play 34 games in total. 17 on home soil and 17 as visitors. OK, so Vancouver is going to play against all the other teams in the MLS at least once? Is the LA Galaxy coming to Vancouver, with Beckham and all the nine yards? No idea. The MLS has not yet published their schedule for 2011. I assume that yes, we will play against the Galaxy but we must wait until the MLS publishes the schedule and the championship rules. So where are the Whitecaps going to play in 2011? We will start our 2011 season in the Empire Stadium (next to the PNE) and as soon as the new renovated BC Place is done, we’ll move there. I am really excited about moving to the BC Place! It’s going to look amazing with its retractable roof and all the new look! How many spectators fit into the Empire Stadium and the BC Place? Each of them will have space for around 20,000 spectators, maybe a little bit more. It all depends on the final seat layout
