The mountain states rarely get any severe thunderstorms or tornadoes. For the central states, severe weather season begins mid March and can last through July. The peak of Tornado Season is from the end of March through the end of May. Western states don’t get many severe thunderstorms or tornadoes. There really is no season. The eastern states get most of their severe thunderstorms and tornadoes during the summer months, from July through August.
