The plan becomes effective October 1, 2006. Current members who enroll in NC SmartChoice will be covered by the State’s CMM plan from July 1 to September 30. State employees who are not currently State Health Plan members under the current CMM plan, but who elect to be covered by NC SmartChoice will begin coverage on October 1, 2006.
